Total War: Arena

Total War: Arena
I was responsible for increasing rewarding activities and improving usability of the game. I made a lot of studies into flames, sparks, metals and effects to increase the sense of drama and achievement throughout the game experience.

I also worked on iconography, levering 3d renders, illustrations and paint-over techniques.

Victory/Defeat Screens
I recreated mock-ups I created in all localised forms in-engine. I made a series of Photoshop scripts which would automate the localisation process too. It was a life saver in terms of time!
Unlock and Hero Screens
in an attempt to make the progression throughout the game a more rewarding and worth while experience, I added a lot of final polish to screens which were sorely lacking in terms of occasion.
Iconography
As with any member of the Total War family of games, there is no shortage of many hundreds of Icons.
Feel the Burn
I added a lot of flames and fire based symbolism. It's War-like, and a great communication tool for significant events in-game.
In-game
With an enormous amount of on-screen information and complicated battle themes happening, the HUD required careful and methodical approaches to information design.
Marketing Imagery
I created a lot of 3d renders for use in marketing shots and screens.
